Great Food & Service! Will definitely be back! The bartender was very sweet and informative when we asked questions about the menu.
We stopped in looking for an out of the way place to get a quick bite and get out of the heat. It was a fairly standard bar menu of appetizers and sandwiches. The bar is very typical of a small town. There was plenty of seating since we were the only ones not at the bar. The bartender/server was polite and friendly. She took our order quickly and checked on us often. The food was fresh and hot, the Philly cheesesteak was huge. Prices for the entire menu were very reasonable. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was the country music and uncomfortable stares from the locals.
I've been going to this place now for years and they have very good burgers and fried pickle would recommend to anyone because it has a very wide variety and it's all very good
$6.95 fish sandwich Friday special with two sides. They call it "bigger than the one that got away." And it was nice and big and as good as any I've had in the Champaign area. My wife had the taco salad for like 5 bucks, loved it, and didn't even finish the whole thing; she was full. There's a condiment table. I don't even know why, but I love those things. Awesome small town vibe. You know how some of those small town places look at you weird when you walk in because you're "not from here?" SS is just the opposite. Totally friendly and laid back. Look forward to returning. Wish I could have stayed for the DJ that was about to start. I'll be back for the $1.50 tacos on Wednesday sometime.
My husband and I stopped here on our way to a high school football playoff game in Westville. This is definitely a small town gem. Octoberfest bottled beers were on special for $2. No draft offerings but the food made up for that! I had a hamburger and waffle fries. The burgers are fresh, not frozen, and full of flavor. My husband had the italian beef sandwich with swiss cheese and enjoyed it! Everything was fresh, hot, and tasty. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. Glad we stopped here!
This local restaurant/bar is Sidney IL lunch stop. Daily lunch specials, Great hamburgers, Sandwiches, Salads, Pizza, Appetizers and drinks to wash it down. I enjoy the recognition from the staff when I visit with the "Norm!" type greeting you would see on tv on Cheers. They also host live bands for evening entertainment.
